Macbeth Completely Crazy

Jakob = Therapist

Macbeth = King of Scotland

Macbeth enters the room. He holds his head sunk and walks calmly towards Jakob.

Jakob: What is happening with you my dear King?

Macbeth: Not even the stars can hide my fires now, ha? The daggers I see are they real? Am I real? Is Banquo real?!

He jumps up hysterically Jakob tries to calm him down but he runs around completely unaware of what Jakob is saying.

Jakob: Macbeth sit down calm yourself no Banquo is in this room.

He stops and looks up. Jakob walks towards him, and wants to grab his shoulder.

Jakob: Dear King, sit down tell me your problems.

Macbeth just started walking towards the mirror ignoring Jakob. He looks into the mirror.

Macbeth: It’s you to whom I have to thank for this misery! It is you, look at me! I am talking to you. You’re not King, I am! Oh and there you are Banquo.

He turns around and walks directly to the middle of the room.

Macbeth: Where are you Banquo, stop hiding, you just stood here.

He runs to Jakob and grabs his shirt. He looks straight into his eyes.

Macbeth: Where is he gone? He wants to be King, but I AM KING!

Jakob: Dear King, here was no Banquo, how can he be, he is dead. You sent your men out to kill him.

Macbeth slowly calms down and stops ignoring Jakob.

Macbeth: Nothing is impossible, if witches exist in this world, why not ghosts?

Slowly both walk towards the chairs Jakob sits down first.

Macbeth: I have no more control over myself Jakob! God or should I say devil only knows what is in my mind. One side supports my pleasures the other completely ruins itself. The morals are gone but suddenly I feel my deeds I’ve done are wrong. I am oscillating above a 1000 meter cliff and slowly the pendulum swings to the middle, I have to decide otherwise no matter where I let go I’ll fall! Cure me make the pendulum swing longer, cure me, and my mind from this trouble.

He waits and Jakob thinks

Macbeth: You cannot cure me nor can anyone else, I have to decide before it is too late! Is it the good or bad side? I do not want to hang in the middle. I have gone that far so why go back I’ll fulfill my deeds no matter what. My wife she will support me I don’t need no one, just she and I and we will rule we will be great together. I should not look back my black and deep desires should not be hidden! So what is my next step where should I go who is my biggest enemy?

He stares at Jakob. Jakob looks unclear and scared at Macbeth

Jakob: D D D Dear King, you sttttill want to talk about the wwwwitches?

Macbeth: THE WITCHES!

He jumps up and runs towards the door

Macbeth: Kill him he knows my weaknesses!!!

He throws the door close and you can only hear a scream. :P

  1. This is brilliantly written, and reveals a profound and insightful understanding of what makes Macbeth tick - as well as functioning very well as a standalone piece of drama. Well done!

    However, unfortunately, your lack of quotations weakens it somewhat, especially where there were lots of points where an apt and pithy quotation would have been relatively easy to find. Don't make that mistake in your essay. Be careful with your punctuation too, which sometimes goes awry...
