Macbeth’s face is covered with fear. His uneasy moves make him seem very nervous.
Therapist: Good morning dear Macbeth, I hope that my visit will help you. So tell me, how are you?
Macbeth: Things are getting much better, my Hallucinations stopped.
Therapist: Good, tell me, what made you believe in witches?
Macbeth: Firstly, I didn’t believe that the devil could speak true. The hard battle against Norway was followed by the witches’ prophesy. The witches’ prediction didn’t sound bad, later on when I became the thane of Cawdor, I start to believe in those prophesies, which made me think that someday I had a chance to become the King.
Therapist: How did Lady Macbeth persuade you to kill Duncan?
Macbeth: She made me feel like a coward, she told me: When you durst do it, then you were a man. Lady Macbeth insulted me by saying that I had no courage to kill Duncan; she said that I would be so much more the man, if I would be more than what I was. But it wasn’t only her fault, after listening to her; I start to have some visions. The dagger which I saw before me pulled the handle toward my hand. Later on, I could not control my self and killed Duncan.
Therapist: Do you think you had any control over it, or you were controlled by your ambitions?
Macbeth: After killing Duncan, I became stronger and more self confident, I killed anyone got in my way, and stopped me from achieving my goals, But later on it became harder and harder to control myself, and my ambitions took control over me.
Therapist: Did you ever consider giving up rather than getting deeper and deeper? Macbeth’s face expression has changed, he became more uneasy.
Macbeth: I would do anything to achieve the goal; when first they put the name of king upon me, I thought that I had to liquidate all the people who could ever say a word against me, but when I realised I Stepp´d in so far that, should i wade no more, it was too late.
Therapist: alright, tell me what happened at the meeting.
Macbeth closed his eyes for a while, then he looked at the therapist and continued to speak.
Macbeth: Everything was going very well, until the Ghost of Banquo entered and sat on my place.
Therapist: But you knew that Banquo was dead.
Macbeth: The table was full, even after the good news about Banquo’s death. One place was reserved for Banquo, who was dead but the horrible shadow was filling the empty chair. I wished the God could quit my sight.
Therapist: Ok, well there was no one, Banquo was dead. So do you believe that it was only your hallucinations?
Macbeth: The ghost of Banquo entered and disappeared at the same time. The image was so real, that no one ever could blame Hallucinations, but I suppose I must admit that it was only the vision and this time, my wife, Lady Macbeth was right.
Therapist: I have a feeling that Lady Macbeth is a strong woman, who can take control over you, tell me more about your relationship.
Macbeth: I love my wife, when I wrote the letter to her she was very happy reading it. She felt the future in the instant, she believed in me. But the idea of becoming the Queen of Scotland, made her ambition to take control over her actions.
Therapist: If you had a chance to do over, would you still kill Duncan and just try to avoid your other mistakes?
Macbeth: That doesn’t matter anymore, what’s done is done. These terrible dreams that shake us nightly awake the feeling of regret in me. But nothing can be changed; the most important for me is the future.
Therapist: So, how do you and your wife feel now?
Macbeth looks at his hands
Macbeth: Its all complicated, I don’t know if even the great Neptune’s ocean can wash this blood from my hand. I still smell the blood. But I will always remain strong. My wife, oh my lovely Lady Macbeth, she is very strong and powerful. She will never give up.
Therapist: alright. Macbeth, could you say that your obsessions with the power, which made you over self-confident can lead to your downfall?
Macbeth jumps out of his chair and screams at the therapist.
Macbeth: How do you dare to talk about my downfall? It will never happen.
Therapist gets a little bit nervous, and doesn’t say anything.
Macbeth: If anyone in Scotland will hear about this visit, you will have many problems, do you understand me?
Therapist: Yes. Macbeth: so, LEAVE NOW. Therapist: good bye.
Therapist quickly leaves the room without looking back.
Mr. Savage i guess when you changed the color of the text the italic texts and coloured texts changed as well :S
ReplyDeleteYou've really thrown yourself into this task, and your script is engaging and detailed. You have also chosen some really useful quotations, which provide a useful insight into his character. Well done!
ReplyDeleteHowever, there are still some crucial points in Macbeth's contributions here which would be much stronger with an embedded word or phrase to back them up. In addition, some of your phrasing is a little clumsy, largely due to the odd grammatical error.
